Program

Through education, exhibitions, and cultural programs, the Reuben Ugbine Foundation sustains and celebrates the legacy of Reuben Ugbine.

Since its inception, the Foundation has organized lectures, workshops, and public programs that highlight Ugbine’s contributions to Nigerian art while encouraging dialogue on the role of creativity in shaping society. These events have brought together artists, academics, cultural leaders, and policymakers, offering both national and international perspectives on art and heritage.

The Foundation also supports research and publications, alongside a scholarship scheme designed to benefit emerging artists and students of leading Nigerian institutions.

In line with its mission, the Foundation established a dedicated art centre to provide deeper insight into Ugbine’s philosophy and practice. The centre also hosts curated exhibitions, showcasing Ugbine’s works alongside those of other African and international artists, while engaging with contemporary art developments in Nigeria in an experimental and research-driven way.

Currently, the Foundation is pursuing major projects, including documenting Ugbine’s writings, lectures, and philosophy, as well as developing a comprehensive online catalogue raisonné to preserve and share his creative legacy with future generations.
